How to Digitally Sign PDF Forms

With Adobe Acrobat, you can digitally sign forms in the way you would place your handwritten signature on a paper form. The digital signature is secure and includes encrypted information to prevent it from being forged.

  1. Digitally Sign PDF Forms

      On the Advanced menu, scroll down to "Sign & Certify" and then select "Place Signature."

      With your mouse, draw a box over the area in which you wish to insert your digital signature. Make sure to create a box that's large enough.

      In the "Sign Document" dialog box, select your Digital ID. The Digital ID is similar to an identification card. If you don't have a Digital ID, you will be prompted to create one.

      If your Digital ID requires a password, enter it and click "Sign."
