How to Connect a DTV Box with a Satellite TV System
A Digital TV (DTV) box converts digital television signals, such as from a satellite programming service, into analog signals that can be processed on older, tube-type TV sets. The DTV connects between the television and the satellite receiver using two coaxial cables to transmit picture and sound between the components. Setting up the equipment takes only a few minutes to attach the cables and program the DTV box, which will scan the available channels automatically with the push of a button.

- 2 coaxial cables with couplers

Place the DTV box within connecting distance of the satellite receiver, preferably by stacking one component on the other, but close enough for attaching cables.

Connect a coaxial cable from the DTV COAX IN jack to the satellite receiver's COAX OUT or AV OUT jack by turning the threaded coupler on each end of the cable clockwise around each jack and tightening by hand.

Attach a second coaxial cable to the COAX OUT or RF OUT jack on the DTV box and tighten the coupler.

Plug the other end of the cable into the RF IN jack on the back of the television to complete the connections.

Turn on the satellite receiver and the DTV and press the "Scan" button to program the box automatically with the available channels from the satellite source.
