How to Fix a Limewire Connection
Limewire is a website downloaded to your computer to download music. Once you have successfully downloaded the website, you can click on it from your desktop, connect to the Internet and begin downloading your favorite artists, bands and music. If you are finding that you have trouble connecting to the Limewire, there are two common problems: the Internet you use is down (for whatever reason) or your firewall is blocking the application (Limewire will not connect to the Internet properly with a firewall activated). If there is something wrong with your Internet, you must contact your Internet provider to fix it. If the problem is firewall, read on to learn how to disable it.

Click the "Start" button on the bottom, left side of the screen. For newer computers, this will be the Windows logo.

Scroll to the "Control Panel" button and click it.

Click on "Security" in within the Control Panel.

Click on "Windows Firewall."

Scroll down to and click on "Off (not recommended)," then click "OK."
For Macs

Click on the Apple logo on the top, left side tool bar.

Scroll to "System Preferences" and click on it.

Select "Security" by clicking on it.

Click on "Firewall" within the three options (General, FireVault and Firewall).

Click "STOP." This will turn the firewall off.

Tips & Warnings
Although disabling the firewall will help you download songs from Limewire, it also takes down a defense mechanism from your computer, leaving it susceptible to viruses.
