How to Check on an Application for a Citicard

You can apply for a credit card from just about any store, bank, or retail company. Citibank offers a wide variety of different credit cards, many of which you can apply for online. If you apply for a Citicard, you will probably want to know as soon as possible if you have been approved. This information can be obtained in several different ways.

Instructions

1. Take note of any contact number on the application if you are submitting the application by mail. This number is a direct line to the Citicard credit card department.

2. Check your email account. When applying for a credit card through Citibank, you are asked for an email address. Citibank will usually notify you within a few minutes whether or not you have been approved for the card.

3. Open any email received from Citibank. The message should state if you have been approved or declined. If you are approved, Citi gives an approximate date when you will receive your card. If you are declined for the card but are qualified for other Citicards, those cards will be displayed.

4. Visit the Citicards.com website. Click the "Contact Citi Cards" tab. There are a variety of contact numbers listed for many different types of cards. Call the number of the card that best fits the Citicard you applied for and ask about the status on your application. You may be required to give your email address as well as part or all of your Social Security number and address.
