While this term is popular in video gaming, its origins stem from table-top games where players use paper and dice to play through imaginative scenarios. While this type of RPG predates video games, table-top playing still goes on strong to this day. One of the challenges of table-top RPGs, however, is finding a group of like-minded players who are in your area and fit your gaming needs.

These websites allow you to post your own information as well as search through a database of like minded players looking for people or groups to join together. Additionally, you may want to consider posting through generalized websites such as Craigslist.

Contact a local role-playing game store and ask if there are any groups looking for more players to join them. Ask if you can post an ad that will allow other groups seeking potential candidates to know what kind of role-playing game you're looking for.
