How to Remove Spider Webbing
Most people are grossed out or just plain scared of spiders. According to the University of Washington's web site on spider myths, spiders are actually good for the home and environment. The spiders capture household insects, keeping your home cleaner. Also, spiders very rarely bite humans or pets and very few have venom. If you're still not convinced to leave your spiders alone, there are two ways to remove the webs to get rid of the spiders. Does this Spark an idea?

For regular ceilings and walls

Kill any live spiders with a fly swatter or a piece of tissue before destroying the web.

Take a broom and twirl the bristles around the web to gather it up.

Take a cleaning pad in your hand and use it to "grab" the webbing off the broom.

Throw away the cleaning pad and repeat the process on any other spiders and webs around your house.
For tall ceilings and walls

A 1977 column by Heloise recommends purchasing a large helium balloon and some nylon fishing line.

Wind the nylon fishing line around the balloon.

Holding onto the balloon string, allow the balloon to float up to the ceiling.

Maneuver the balloon around by tugging on its string. The nylon line will gather up the spider webs.

Make sure the helium balloon has a very long string on it; if not, tie one on.
