How to Fix Red Eye in PSP X2
A photograph can be ruined by slight imperfections that are out of the hands of the photographer. Errors in the photo, such as red eye, where the eyes of the subjects appear to have a red tint, can be cleared away with the use of photo editing software such as "Paint Shop Pro X2." The software features a tool that removes red eye by clicking on the troubled areas. Those more familiar with editing digital photos can further adjust aspects of each eye down to the color of the eye itself.

Purchase and install Paint Shop Pro X2. The software can be found in electronic stores or downloaded through Corel, the makers of the product. (See Resources)

2
Click "File" and then "Open" from the top menu of Paint Shop Pro X2. Select the image you wish to fix and load it into the software.

3
Click on "Adjust" from the top menu and select "Red Eye Removal."
-
4
Drag the cursor over and click on the first eye you wish to fix. Use the boxes to adjust the height and width of the cursor to ensure the entire eye has been selected.
-
5
Adjust the color of the eye by choosing from the options listed under "Hue" on the tool box below the image. You can select the true color of the eye or an entirely new color.
-
6
Increase and decrease the intensity, "Pupil Lightness" and "Glint Lightness," until the image displayed matches your desired tint for the eye.
-
7
Adjust the size of the pupil and glint. The pupil size refers to the dark portion in the center of the eye while the glint is a flicker of light common with a camera flash.
-
8
Soften the eye using the "Feather" and "Blur" tools that remove the pixelated look of the eye after adjustments.
-
9
Repeat the adjustments on the other eyes in the photograph. Click "OK," when you are finished, to save your changes and exit out of the "Red Eye Adjustment" menu.
