How to Use a Web Cam on a Mac Book
Every new Apple MacBook comes with a high-quality Web cam known as iSight. This camera is located just above the display on the surrounding panel. This camera can be used with two programs that exist on every Macintosh: Photo Booth and iChat.

Photo Booth

Open Photo Booth. Click the "Finder" icon in the dock at the bottom of the screen. Navigate to the "Applications" folder. Double-click on the Photo Booth application.

Click the red button in the center of the window and the iSight will take a picture or start recording a video clip. Click the button again to stop recording. Use the "Effects" option on the left side of the window to add different kinds of effects to your pictures or video clips.

View and send, if desired, the recorded Images and videos in the "Photo Booth" folder located in the "Pictures" folder.
iChat

Open iChat. Click the "Finder" icon in the dock at the bottom of the screen. Navigate to the "Applications" folder. Double-click on the iChat application.
When prompted, enter your username and password for your gmail, AIM or MobileMe account .

Initiate a video chat with a contact. Right-click (or control + click if you don't have a two-click mouse) on a contact and click "Invite To Video Chat."

Chat with the contact. The contact will receive an invitation to chat and if he accepts, you should see a window with his image (if he has a Web cam) with a small view of you (from your iSight) in the upper left-hand corner.
