How to Set Up a LLC in North Carolina

A Limited Liability Company (LLC) is a legal form of business allowed by North Carolina state statute, which provides limited financial liability to its owners. LLCs provide the asset protection of a corporation while allowing for the flexible management structure of a partnership or sole proprietor. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) considers LLCs to be disregarded entities for tax purposes, which means taxes pass-through to the members of the business. This allows LLCs to avoid the double taxation associated with regular corporations.
