How to Use a Hypercom T 7 Plus Credit Card Machine

Hypercom is a large manufacturer of credit card terminals, and a provider of merchant accounts for businesses. The T7 Plus is one of Hypercom's popular credit card processors. It is equipped with Hypercom's "Sureload" printer, virtually eliminating time-consuming paper jams. The system is user-friendly and capable of processing credit or debit card transactions.

Instructions

Credit/Debit Transactions

1. Slide the credit card through the slot to process a credit card transaction. When the screen says "Amount," enter the amount to be charged and hit "Enter."

2. Wait for the machine to authorize the card. When the machine is finished, the machine will display "Response." The receipts will print within a few moments.

3. Press the "Debit" button, and then slide the debit card to process a debit transaction. Enter the amount when prompted, and hit "Enter."

4. Ask the customer to enter her debit card PIN. The machine will authorize the card and print the receipts.

Issuing Refunds

1. Press the "Refund" button to issue a credit refund. Slide the credit card through the slot, and enter the refund amount.

2. Wait for the machine to process the refund; when it's complete, the receipts will print, indicating the amount of the refund.

3. Press "Refund" to issue a debit card refund. Slide the debit card. Enter the refund amount, and hit "Enter."

4. Ask the customer to enter his PIN. Wait for the machine to process the refund; when it's finished, the receipts will print.

Tips & Warnings

• You can also reprint a receipt for the last transaction. Press "Function," "7," "2" and "Enter." Choose "Merchant Receipt" or "Customer Receipt" and press "Enter."
