How to Diminish Broken Capillaries on the Face
When your capillaries dilate, they lose elasticity. Eventually, they'll be unable to return to normal size, causing the capillary to collapse. Broken capillaries tend to appear as red spots on the face, though they can occur in other parts of the body. Many factors contribute to broken capillaries. Using abrasive soaps or scrubs, drinking too much alcohol or caffeine, being overexposed to harsh cold winds or the sun and using irritating cosmetics can lead to broken capillaries. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Wash your face with mild, fragrance- and additive-free soap. Dry with a soft towel.

2
Apply essential oils to the affected area. Consider using chamomile, cypress, geranium, lemon, neroli, palmarosa, peppermint, rose or rosemary essential oils, as these oils help restore elasticity to blood vessels and reduce redness. Combining these with carrier oils, such as borage, calophyllum inophyllum, evening primrose, hazelnut or rose hip seed oils, can further enhance the effectiveness of the essential oil.

3
Apply vitamin K serum to the affected areas. Vitamin K helps to diminish the appearance of broken capillaries.

Go for a photofacial treatment that uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). A technician will apply a special light lotion to the affected area. She will then deliver the pulsed light over the area. The broken capillaries will absorb the light energy, which is meant to shrink and heal the capillaries. Diminishing the appearance of broken capillaries may require several treatments spaced several weeks apart.
