Air fresheners can be harsh and full of unknown ingredients. They can be quite expensive too. It's super easy to make your own if you follow this simple fresh smelling air freshener tutorial.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 cup of baking soda

  • 10 to 15 drops of essential oil of your choice

  • Piece of decorative paper such as scrapbook paper, wallpaper or wrapping paper

  • Small Mason jar with lid

Step 1: Add 1 cup of baking soda to a small Mason jar.

Step 2: Add 10 - 15 drops of essential oil of your choice.

Lemon and orange oils are great for a fresh citrus scent. Lavender is a nice relaxing scent. Peppermint is a scent that helps with awakening.

Step 3: Stir ingredients until thoroughly mixed.

Step 4: Trace your Mason jar lid on the paper.

Step 5: Place paper inside the Mason jar lid ring.

Discard the metal piece that fits inside the mason jar lid ring and replace it with the decorative paper.

Step 6: Poke holes in the paper.

Use a sharp object to poke holes the paper to allow the air freshener to escape from the jar.
