How to Fix Smitfraud C
Smitfraud C is a malicious program that is installed by adware. Once it has been installed, it works with rogue anti-spyware programs such as Spyware Guard 2009, XpyBurner, AntiVirus 1, which display frequent false pop-up notifications of threats on your computer to trick you into purchasing the full software versions. Because Smitfraud C is both difficult and dangerous to remove manually, you can remove it safely using tested removal tools, without affecting system processes on your computer.

Click the Windows "Start" button and click "All Programs." Scroll up and select "Accessories."

Click "System Tools" and click "System Restore" to open the System Restore wizard. Click "Create new restore point" on the System Restore wizard and click "Next." Type in a name for the restore point and click "Create." This will backup your computer system using a restore point you can come back to in case you make a mistake.

Download the Smitfraud removal tool (see Resources) and save it to your desktop.

Restart your computer and press "F8" repeatedly before the Windows logo appears. This will bring you to the Windows Options Menu. Scroll down and select "Safe Mode." Press "Enter" to log into Windows Safe Mode.

Double-click the Smitfraud removal tool you downloaded and click "Run." The removal tool will delete Smitfraud files from system folders. Restart your computer normally when the process is complete.

Launch your anti-virus program and click the "Update" button to install any available virus and spyware definitions. Perform a full system scan for any left over Smitfraud C files and delete all files detected. If you do not have an anti-virus program, download and install AVG Antivirus free (see Resources). Launch your program after it has installed and perform a full system scan. Delete any detected Smitfaud C files.

Download and install Spyware Doctor (see Resources) if you are still experiencing Smitfraud C pop-ups. It will cost you some money, but it has been tested to remove Smitfraud C and all associate files. Consider it a final resort if the removal tool and your anti-virus program does not remove all the Smitfraud C files.
