Instructions

  1. Replace Socket

    • 1

      Unplug the lamp and place it on a sturdy work surface where it can be disassembled. Remove all light bulbs and set them aside.

      Remove the lamp shade.

      Remove the glass shade by unscrewing the decorative cap. Move the shade away from the work area.

      Pull the decorative tube off the lamp stem. Rotate the lamp stem counterclockwise to remove it.

      Place the lamp on its side and unsnap the bottom cover by inserting a flathead screwdriver into the slot and twisting upward.

      Unscrew the wire connectors and disconnect the white and black wires.

      Disconnect the white and black wires by unscrewing the wire connectors.

      Turn the lamp right side up and grab the broken socket with the needle-nose pliers. Pull up on the socket and release it from the socket stem. Pull the socket and wire out with your hands.

      Feed the wire attached to the new socket through the socket stem and lamp. Push the new socket into place until it snaps in.

      Reconnect the wire at the bottom of the lamp using the plastic wire connectors.

      Snap the bottom of the lamp back into place.

      Thread the lamp stem back into place and replace the decorative cover.

      Reinstall the glass shade by attaching it with the decorative shade cap and plug lamp back into outlet.
