How to Use USA Proxy

A proxy acts as a go-between for a computer and the Internet. With a proxy, an administrator can create blockers that will not allow specific websites to be viewed over a server or network (such as a school or business). When a user attempts to access one of these sites, it will be blocked and the user will not be granted access. USA proxy is a proxy service that can be used by companies and schools all over the world.

Instructions

    • 1

Log onto a computer on the server as an administrator and purchase USA Proxy (see Resources). USA Proxy drivers and information will be downloaded onto the computer. Open the downloaded icon to launch the software installation wizard. When following the prompts, make sure to install the information on the "network drive." This will allow the information to be accessed by all computers on the network. Complete the remaining prompts to finish the installation.

    • 2

Log onto each computer on the network as an administrator. Access the driver information in the network drive. Install the software and drivers. Complete the software and driver installations on all the computers on the network.

    • 3

Open a Web browser once all the computers have USA Proxy installed. The request will be sent from the computer to the USA Proxy server. Access will be granted and the homepage will load.

    • 4

Type in the URL of a website which has been blocked. The proxy will recognize the request and deny access to the specified Web page.

    • 5

Adjust the settings of the USA proxy by logging into the computer as the administrator. Select the USA Proxy icon (either on the desktop on on the "Start" menu). This will bring up the login information. Type in the administrative name and password to gain access.

    • 6

Select the "Options." Here you can add or remove specific websites to add or remove from the "blacklist" (sites that won't be granted access). Type in the desired site you want to add to the list or delete a website you want users to be able to access. Click "Apply" and the changes will be saved.
