Learn how to keep your torches safe and functioning correctly. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Place the tiki torches in a safe location. They should be placed away from anything burnable such as buildings, tents, and trees, and away from where people will be standing. The torches need to have ventilation and should not be used indoors or on an enclosed patio.

    • 2

Clean the heads of the torches to remove the layer of carbon that appears after burning. This should be done with a dry rag after every use. If the head is really dirty, remove it and use soap and water to clean it. Dry it thoroughly and wait a few hours before using it.

    • 3

Follow the instructions for hooking up the propane tank if using the propane tiki torches. If you smell gas or hear a hissing sound when you turn on the propane, turn off the gas and check the hose and connectors.

    • 4

Use citronella oil in the tiki torch to help repel insects. This type of oil will not produce smoke. Keep the oil torches filled with oil to enjoy hours of burning. You should check the wick before lighting to make sure that it is still usable and will burn without needing replacing during use.
