How to Change Your Text Ringtones on Your Samsung Impression

The Samsung Impression uses four different sound profiles, allowing users to customize each profile to their needs. Your text-messaging tones can be changed for the Impression's "Normal," "Driving" or "Outdoor" profiles. There are four different messaging tones to choose from, as well as a vibration mode. You'll need to access your phone's settings menu to alter your sounds and alerts. The Impression does not have the ability to use customized or downloaded sounds as text-messaging alerts.

Instructions

1. Touch the "Menu" button, located on the right side of your home screen. Touch "Settings." Your settings menu will open.

2. Touch "Sound Profiles." Touch the profile you wish to edit -- ringtones are available in three profiles.

3. Touch the drop-down menu, located in the top right corner of the screen. Select "Message" from the menu.

4. Touch the "Mesage Alert Type" field. Choose "Melody" to be alerted with a tone only. Choose "Vibration then Melody" to be alerted with a vibration, followed by the tone you select. Choose "Vibration & Melody" to be alerted with a vibration and tone simultaneously. Press "Save."

5. Touch the "Message Alert Tone" field. From this menu, you will see the available tones. Touch a desired tone and touch "Save."
