How to Make Your Own Slideshow for Free With Credits & Music
A slideshow complete with audio tracks is a great way to show off pictures of your latest vacation or special event. To make your own slideshow complete with credits and music, you should have Windows Movie Maker or iMovie on your PC or Mac computer. If you do not, both are free downloads available on the Windows and Apple official websites.

1
Open your movie program of choice by clicking the icon in your toolbar, or by searching for the program in your Start or Finder menu. A PC with a Windows operating system will use Movie Maker, while Apple computers running OS X will use iMovie.
-
2
If you are using Movie Maker, click "Pictures," then select the images you wish to use in your slideshow and click "Import." If you are using iMovie, click and drag the pictures from your iPhoto library to the iMovie window, where they will be automatically added to the iMovie library.

3
Arrange the images in the timeline in the order you want them to appear in the slideshow. With both programs, you can click and drag the pictures to your desired order. You can also choose "Transitions" and insert them in between pictures to make your presentation more professional. Movie Maker and iMovie each have their own unique transitions that add to the quality of your slideshow.

To add music, decide on a song or songs from your music collection. Be aware that both Movie Maker and iMovie will not play pirated music or audio tracks with certain file extensions. For Movie Maker, drag the music track from your desktop to the audio/music area near the bottom of the window. For iMovie, click on the music icon to select and drag anything from your iTunes library to the appropriate place in your slideshow. With both programs, you clip songs and enter multiple clips per slideshow.
-
5
To add credits in Movie Maker, click on "Titles and Credits," then enter your title and any credits you wish, in any font or color you choose, and click "Add Title." With iMovie, click the "T" (text) icon on the right side of the window, choose "Scrolling Credits", and drag it to the last frame in your slideshow. There you can add the text and adjust the font and color of the credits.
-
6
Click "Play" or "Preview" to watch your slideshow and note places that need improvement. In both cases, the program will have a pre-set amount of time (usually 4-5 seconds) in which each picture is displayed. To change the timing, simply click on the picture, enter a new time, and if desired, click "Apply to All Photos."
