How to Replace Pill Cutter Blades
Medications come in many strengths and sizes. Occasionally your prescription will call for a certain milligram strength, but your pharmacist only has a different milligram in stock. When this happens, you must be able to cut a pill down to supplement the difference and take your prescription the way the doctor intended. Pill cutters will help you do this with almost no effort. Occasionally, the blade in your pill cutter will need to be replaced so that you will not be crushing your pills with a blunt edge.

1
Open the pill cutter so that the blade is exposed. Pry the small, plastic retaining clip from the blade to release it from the body of the cutter.
-
2
Grasp the blade with a rag and pull it free from the pill cutter. Wrap the blade in the rag and dispose of them together to prevent the blade from cutting through your trash bag and causing injury to yourself or others.
