How to Configure a Linksys Workgroup Switch

A Linksys workgroup switch allows several different network devices including computers, print servers and file servers to connect together in one network. Unlike a router, the switch does not connect the devices to the Internet. Instead, the switch only allows connections between devices. Configuring a Linksys Workgroup Switch is simply a matter of connecting the network devices to the switch, then turning the switch on.

Things You'll Need

• Network Devices (computers, print servers, etc.)
• Linksys Workgroup Switch
• Ethernet cables (cat5e)

Instructions

1. Connect the Ethernet cables to any of the open ports on the Linksys Workgroup Switch.

2. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cables to the Ethernet ports on the network devices.

3. Plug the Linksys Workgroup Switch in to turn it on.
