Founded in 1921, the National Honor Society seeks to encourage and provide opportunities for high school students who have demonstrated a commitment to achievement, service, leadership and a positive lifestyle. National Honor Society members work in their communities, attend conferences and are eligible for a number of college scholarships. If you are interested in applying for membership, you must meet a few key requirements.

      Meet the grade level requirements. You must be a high school Sophomore, Junior or Senior to apply for membership in the National Honor Society.

      Make the grade. You must have and maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average or its equivalent.

      Get involved. You must be an active participant in high school organizations or perform volunteer work.

    • 4

      Be a leader. You must be able to demonstrate a sense of confidence in yourself and the willingness to take charge when necessary.

      Show character. You must respect yourself and others, have an optimistic attitude, be serious about reaching your goals and possess a strong work ethic.
