How to Check a Stimulus Tax Rebate Status With a SSN
In 2007, President George W. Bush issued a stimulus rebate to citizens of the United States in an effort to stimulate the failing economy. The rebate was automatically sent to all individuals who filed a tax return for the 2006 tax year. Those who did not receive a rebate check in 2007 were able to claim the recovery rebate credit on their 2008 federal tax return. If you believe that you should have received a stimulus payment and did not, you can easily check the status of your rebate using your Social Security Number (SSN).
