How to Get More Mbps Out of Clearwire
Clearwire provides broadband Internet access in major markets across the United States, Ireland, Belgium, Spain, Denmark and Mexico. Unlike traditional cable or DSL broadband providers, Clearwire delivers high-speed access using wireless Internet connections. Because signals are sent and received over the air, connection speed varies, depending on geography, the placement of the modem, and even the opening and closing of windows. You can adjust a number of variables yourself to try and boost your Clearwire connection speed.

1
Place your modem closer to a window. If the number of lights flashing on your modem increases, the signal quality and the speed of your connection has increased and the modem should be left in its new location. If signal quality decreases, move the modem back to its original location.
-
2
Turn the modem, 90 degrees at a time. Check the modem lights after each turn to see if the signal quality has improved.
-
-
3
Place the modem at a higher level. Check the modem lights to verify if signal quality has improved.
-
4
Open the window closest to the modem. Check the modem lights again to see if signal quality has improved.
-
5
Purchase and install Clearwire's ClearPlug wall mount module. This accessory allows you to set up your modem where the connection signal is strongest, and then connect the modem to your computer or wireless router using your home's electrical wiring system.
