How to Create Gift Packaging for Wrapped Candies and Thank You Gifts
Gift wrapping can be as inventive and attractive as the gift inside. Investing time and energy in the presentation gives even the simplest present added meaning. Clever wrapping does not have to be expensive. The gift wrapping can be a present in itself, when useful items like dishtowels and ponytail holders are used.

Wrap a bottle of wine with a beautiful tea towel. Put the wine bottle on the tea towel so the top of the bottle and the edge of the towel are parallel. Roll the towel around the bottle. Fold the bottom of the towel under the bottom of the bottle. Use tape or straight pins to hold in place. Use beaded ponytail holders on the neck of the bottle to hold the towel in place.

Wrap several small boxes of candy in coordinating colors of gift wrap. Stack the boxes on top of each other, from largest to smallest. Wrap ribbon around the entire stack of boxes and tie attractively. Buy an attractive glass loaf pan and fill with candy. Wrap in colored cellophane wrap. Twist the top of the cellophane paper and tape in place to hold the twist. Slide two small cookie cutters over the cellophane to hide the tape.

Make a silk envelope to hold a small gift. Cut two pieces of coordinating silk, roughly three times as large as the present, and twice as wide. Face the right sides of the silk together and stitch on three sides. Turn right side out. Turn 1/2 inch of the unstitched side down. Iron in place. Fold it again 1/2 inch. Iron again. Stitch in place. Fold the bottom third of the fabric up. Stitch the two sides of the fabric. This creates the envelope. Put the gift in the envelope and fold the remaining third over the front. Wrap a ribbon around it to hold closed.
