How to Use a Simplimatic Folding Machine
Since 1936, MBM Corporation has produced various "paper handling" machines, including shredders, cutters, collators and folding machines. The Simplimatic is a compact tabletop folding machine designed to quickly fold paper--averaging 8,400 sheets per hour ranging in size from 5 3/4" x 6" to 8 1/2" x 14"--for various uses, from business or event mass mailings to paper-related craft projects. To use the Simplimatic, you must choose a folding/paper feed method (automatic or manual) and fold setting--one of up to four preset fold styles (half, accordion, letter and double parallel) or a custom setting based on your measurement preferences.

Plug in your Simplimatic folding machine.

Prep the machine. Stack your paper (no more than 5/8 inch or 16 mm thick). Press and hold the hopper lever on the right side of the machine, insert the stack into the hopper--centered on the feed table behind the feed roller--then release the lever.

Secure the paper stack. Adjust the paper guides and guide fingers to sit flush against the stack.

Adjust the receiving rack at the back of the machine. Hand-fold a sheet of paper to the approximate size of the fold that you need, place it on the rack against the machine, then slide the rack into position 1 to 2 inches from the sheet.

Select your fold settings. Move the locking knobs to unlock the colored inner and outer fold dials. Turn the dials to your desired settings. When finished, move the knobs back into position to lock the dials.

Turn on the machine to begin folding by pushing the power switch to the "ON" position.

Plug in your machine.

Flip the feed table down over the top of your Simplimatic folding machine base.

Prep the fold settings. Move the locking knobs to the unlocked position, then adjust the fold dials as desired. When finished, lock the dials.

Prep the paper. Push the paper guides to the ends of the slot in the folded feed table, then insert one to three sheets of paper into the slot.

Fold the paper manually. Rest the sheet(s) against the fingertip of one hand, and with your other hand press and hold the power switch in the "Jog" position. When the machine has finished folding the sheet(s), repeat or move the switch to the "Off" position.

Tips & Warnings
If you need a custom "C," "Z" or "Half" fold, refer to the diagrams and instructions in the Simplimatic manual, as every custom fold differs based on user measurement preferences.
If you have skewed folds, adjust the paper guides, reposition or straighten the paper in the hopper and/or check the stack thickness and remove any excess paper if necessary.
