How to Wear a Wrap Skirt As a Dress
Wrap skirts are a wonderfully versatile item of women's clothing. While many women wear them solely as skirts, others choose to wear them as strapless dresses, giving themselves an extra choice in their wardrobe. Using wrap skirts as dresses is a great idea for women who may have gained weight or who are pregnant and can no longer fit the waistline. Instead these women can use their wrap skirt as a dress for maximum comfort and a great fashion statement.

1
Choose a wrap skirt that comes in a "one size fits most" category, is a flexible size, or uses stretch materials and fabric fastener closings or belts. If the skirt does not meet one of these categories, its use as a dress may be limited, depending on the wearer's chest size. If the waist line of the dress is compatible to the wearer's chest size, it will fit well.
-
2
Wear a strapless bra to keep the bust line in place and the fit of the dress comfortable but snug.
-
-
3
Wrap the skirt around the chest, the same way as when fitting a skirt, keeping the label to the back.
-
4
Secure the fabric fastener, button closing, zipper or belt to ensure the dress is on securely.
-
5
Tie the belt to the side or back---the same way it would be done if being worn as a skirt.
-
6
Adjust the dress until the fabric is fitted but comfortable.
-

Wrap dresses are open at the bottom. Attach a matching or colorful pin or brooch to secure the dress from opening up in the front or sides. To ensure coverage, place the brooch from the thigh down toward the bottom of the dress.

Tips & Warnings
Multiple brooches can be used. Remove brooches or pins before removing the wrap skirt.
Make sure large pins or brooches are not overused so as to show marks or pinholes in the fabric.
Always pin or place brooches away from the skin to avoid being pricked by the needle.
