How to Block Texts With Alltel

Block annoying and harrassing text messages from your cell phone.

Alltel is a former wireless telecommunications company that was acquired by Verizon Wireless in 2009. Alltel currently serves 22 states, primarily in the Southern United States. Users of Alltel phones have the option of sending and receiving text messages. Text-messaging plans are often purchased to allow for unlimited messaging capabilities. Users may wish to block and no longer receive text messages if the messages begin to run up a phone bill or become annoying or harassing.

Instructions

1. Create a new text message from your Alltel phone. Select "Messages" from the main menu.

2. Enter "8888" in the recipient field of the text message.

3. Type "B" plus the 10-digit phone number you wish to block in the body of the text message. Make sure to leave a space between the "B" and 10-digit phone number. Failing to do so will cause the text messages to keep coming. The message should look something like "B 4032992483."

4. Click "Send." Alltel will block the phone number from sending you text messages.
