They only answer questions for you that day and do not represent you in your case or go to Court for you.

These programs are on a first come first serve basis. So if the Court opens at 8:00 get there at 8:00 or when the building opens to put your name on the waiting list to talk to the Lawyer of the Day. Be prepared to wait. Also the Lawyers are giving their own time so they have a right to leave for the day, take a break, or go to lunch.

You can also check with your employer to see if they have an attorney you may ask a few question, check with your Union, are you a Veteran see what services they offer and so on. Each County has a Legal Service Office that provides free or low cost legal help to those who meet the income level. Check the phone book or ask the Court if they have a list of these agencies. The Internet is a great resource and you can also hire lawyers online and talk to them by instant messaging for low cost.
