How to Remove Pet Urine Odors From Hardwood Floors
Hardwood floors will retain the odor of pet urine if your pet has accidents in the same place time and again. The pet urine can seep into the hardwood flooring and before long you will smell the pet urine odor. Locate the area on your hardwood floor where you smell the pet urine odor. If you cannot see it, use a black light. A black light will cause the pet urine to glow. If you have located the area with a black light draw a chalk line around the area.

Very generously sprinkle baking soda over the area. Ideally you want a layer of baking soda about 1/4 of an inch thick. You should not be able to see the hardwood floor through the baking soda.

Mix 1 cup of white vinegar with 1 cup of very warm water.

Pour the white vinegar and water over the baking soda.

Use a stiff bristled broom to scrub the hardwood floor while the baking soda and vinegar are bubbling.

Wipe the hardwood floor with a wet towel as soon as the bubbling stops.

Rinse the towel with plain warm water and wipe the area again.

Immediately dry the hardwood floor with a dry towel.

Tips & Warnings
If the pet urine odor is coming from an area on the hardwood floor that is now stained and discolored, you will have to refinish that section of the floor.
You may have to repeat this process for successful pet urine odor removal.
