1
Be extremely wary about wiring money to someone you do not know. There are many scams associated with wiring money, and the relative anonymity of the transaction makes it a prime target for thieves.
-
2
Get the full name and address of the person to whom you will be wiring the money. Be sure to get the person's full legal name. In order for the recipient to pick up the money, he or she will need to present identification, and it is important that the names match.

Look for Western Union, Moneygram and other wire transfer services in your area. Money transfers are often available at check-cashing stores and similar sites, as well as many Greyhound bus terminals. In addition, many Wal-Mart stores around the country have Western Union and other money transfer services.

4
Ask the clerk behind the counter for a money transfer form, and fill it out completely. Don't hesitate to ask questions if there is something you do not understand, as clerks are trained to help customers fill out the forms correctly.
-
5
Give the clerk the completed form, along with the cash you wish to send and any associated fees. Wait for the transaction to go through, and don't forget to take your receipt.
-
6
Follow up with the recipient to make sure he or she was able to pick up the money you sent. Contact the wire transfer company if there are any problems.
