Filing for Wyoming Unemployment
Filing for unemployment can seem like a daunting task. It can seem very time-consuming and complicated. Luckily, the state of Wyoming has simplified the process by allowing those who wish to file a claim to do so on the Internet. Filing for Wyoming unemployment can be done on the Web 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Just gather up all the documents you will need, and make sure you have about half an hour to devote to the application.
Things You'll Need
- Your Social Security Number
- Information for your employers over the last 18 months, including their names, addresses and phone numbers
- Name and number of your local union hall (if you have one)
- Alien Registration Number (if you are a legal alien)
- DD-214 form (if you served in the military)
- SF-50 form or SF-8 form (if you are employed by the federal government)

Use your web browser to go to wyui.doe.state.wy.us.

Fill out the first page of the form. It asks for your name, address, phone number, date of birth, race, and your highest level of education completed. The page will also ask if you are a U.S. citizen, disabled, or a veteran.

Answer the questions about your unemployment applications over the past 12 months if there are any and whether you are a member of a union. Depending on your answers, there may be additional questions. Then check the boxes for what type of employers you have worked for in the past 18 months. Types of employers include private companies, state or local government, federal government or military service.

List all of the employers you have worked for in the last 18 months. If any of the companies you worked for are in the common employer list, add them through that function. If not, type them in manually.

Answer all questions asked about the employers you listed, and then hit the "Click Mouse Here To Proceed" button at the bottom of the page.

Answer questions about your eligibility. These questions ask things such as you ability to start work, your ability to transport yourself to work, if you have turned down any work.

Choose if you want to have federal income tax withheld from your benefits check or not. If you choose "no," you will be responsible for paying taxes on your benefits.

Read over the certification agreement before you file your claim. Then choose "Yes, I want to file a claim" or "No, I do not want to file a claim."

Hang on to the confirmation number you are given. You will be contacted within seven days and told whether you are eligible for unemployment benefits. If any questions you answered required you to send additional documents, send those to the Wyoming Department of Employment P.O. Box 2760 Casper WY 82602.
