How to Unlock a Telus Samsung Instinct
The Instinct mobile phone manufactured by Samsung includes a wide range of advanced capabilities. However, owners may not have access to the Instinct's full functionality when they purchase through a wireless service provider, such as Telus in Canada. The good news is that you can remove artificial limitations imposed on your Telus Instinct through a simple process to "unlock" the phone.

1
Determine the unique MSL (Master Subsidy Lock) code for your phone. The easiest way to do this is to call Telus customer service and ask for the code. You have the right to this code, which is necessary for many routine and legitimate activities, including restoring the default settings for your Instinct.
-
2
Dial ##, type in the numbers "332846368" (or "DEBUGMENU") and dial # again.
-
-
3
Type in the MSL code for your phone.
-
4
Choose the "Toggle NAI" option from the displayed menu.
-
5
Set your "Toggle NAI" option to "Off." Your Telus Samsung Instinct is now unlocked.

Tips & Warnings
As an alternative to requesting your MSL code from Telus customer service, you can download any of several free, widely available applications that can find and reveal your Instinct's MSL when you connect it to a computer.
Many commercial sites offer methods or services that promise to unlock your Instinct for a substantial fee, but you shouldn't need to resort to this costly approach.
