How to Create an Img File From Video_Ts

A Video TS folder contains the video files in a DVD's structural components. Burning an Img file--that is, creating a Bin, a Cue or an ISO image--requires making an image for an entire folder or disc's contents. If you have previously ripped a DVD to your computer and want to reformat it to be burned to a disc, then you will need to download a program to create its disc image (since no programs come standard with your computer). These programs, including Nero, MagicISO and ImgBurn, also allow you to burn an Img file for an entire hard drive--for backup in case your computer fails. Although different programs, the actual instructions for creating an Img file are basically the same.

Instructions

  1. Nero Burning ROM

    • 1

Download and install Nero Burning ROM (or a free trial). Agree to the terms of use and open the program.

    • 2

Choose the "Burn Image" option in the "Recorder" menu and insert a blank DVD. When prompted by the pop-up menu, direct your computer to the Video TS folder you want converted.

    • 3

Enable the "Write" box by clicking it. Choose the disc's writing speed, based on the options Nero provides, and click "Burn" to begin creating an image file.

    MagicISO

    • 4

Download and install MagicISO. Agree to the terms of use and open the software.

    • 5

Click the "Tools" menu and choose "Any Format to ISO Converter." Direct the program to open the Video TS folder as its "Source."

    • 6

Name your file and choose its output destination (where your computer will save the file). Click "Convert" to begin the image creation.

    ImgBurn

    • 7

Download and install ImgBurn from its provider and start the program. Insert a blank DVD into your computer and double-click the "ImgBurn" icon.

    • 8

Click the "Destination" output drop-down menu and direct ImgBurn to the blank DVD, so it knows where to burn the image file to.

    • 9

Select "Browse..." from the "File" menu and locate the Video TS folder you want converted--this tells your computer where to find your input file. Click "Open."

    • 10

Click the image that has a hard drive with an arrow pointing to a CD to begin burning the image. ImgBurn will tell you when the process is complete.
