You can sync 1-4 wireless controllers to one Xbox 360.

The Xbox 360 utilizes wireless controllers to alleviate a mess of tangled wires often associated with wired controllers. However, wireless controllers won't automatically work with the console. Before playing, you must synchronize the controllers. Then, they will only work with your Xbox 360's specific wireless signal until they are synced up with another console.

Instructions

    • 1

Stand within 30' of the console.

    • 2

Turn on your Xbox 360 by pressing the round power button located on the front of the console.

    • 3

Power on your controller by holding down the silver Guide button in the center of the controller. The Guide button will light up when it powers on.

    • 4

Put your Xbox 360 into controller sync mode by pressing the connect button on the console, located to the right of the second memory card slot.

    • 5

Press the sync button on your controller, which is located next to the left bumper. The sync is complete when the Rings of Light on the controller and the console simultaneously light up and flash.

    • 6

Repeat the process for the additional controller. The first controller you sync will display a light in quadrant one of Guide button. The second controller you sync will have a light displayed in quadrant two. Your Xbox 360 will show both quadrants lit up on the console's Ring of Light.

Tips & Warnings

  • Problems with syncing controllers to an Xbox 360 can be caused by wireless devices such as routers or cellphones. Try moving wireless devices farther away from your Xbox 360 to prevent connection issues.
