Keep your address current with the Board of Elections.

Keeping your address up to date with the New York State Board of Elections ensures that you vote in the correct precinct. Voting in the wrong precinct may mean you don't get to vote on local issues that affect you the most. Although you may change your address with your Board of Elections all year long, the agency requests that forms be submitted 25 days prior to an election to vote in that election. You can download the proper forms online, but they must be submitted in person or through the mail to the Board of Elections office in the county where you live.
