How to Check the Ink on Your HP Inkjet 1100

It's easy to check your HP Inkjet 1100 printer's ink level.

Hewlett-Packard printers, including the HP Inkjet 1100, contain a set of utilities for managing and maintaining the printer's cartridges and connection with your computer, and for updating the printer's driver. The utility program, Printer Toolbox, also lets you monitor the ink level of the ink cartridges inside of your HP Inkjet 1100 printer. The ink meter gives you an estimate of the ink remaining in both the color and black/white ink cartridges. It is helpful to know the ink level before you start printing a large amount of documents or photos.

Instructions

1. Click on "Start," choose "All Programs" and select "HP Director" if using Windows. If using a Mac, click on the HP Inkjet Utility icon on your Mac's Desktop.

2. Click "Settings" and choose "Print Settings."

3. Click "Printer Toolbox."

4. Click on the "Estimated Ink Level" tab. Your HP Inkjet 1100's ink levels are graphically displayed in the dialog box.

Tips & Warnings

• To close the Printer Toolbox utility, click on the "X" in the upper right-hand corner of the open dialog box, if using Windows. If using a Mac, the "X" is in the upper left-hand corner.
