How to Get Game Saves From a Computer to a Memory Card
You can transfer saved game files from your computer to an SD memory card if you want to back up the files or take the files to a friend's house for use with their copy of the game. You can also download saved game files for games on the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

Locate your computer's SD memory card slot. On laptops it will be on the side or front, and on desktops it will be on the front of the tower.

Insert the SD memory card label side up. Push it in until it clicks. When it loads on your computer, click the "Open Folder to View Files" option in the dialog box.

Open "My Computer" from the "Start" menu or from your desktop. Open "Local Disk," then "Program Files."

Find your game's folder, which will be listed under the name of the company that published it. For example, "The Sims 3" would be in a folder called "EA Games," while "Starcraft" would be in a folder called "Blizzard."

Open the game's folder and locate the save data. It should be a folder called "Saves," "Saved Games," "Saved Data" or something similar. There will be some variation from game to game.

Click the saved data folder and press "CTRL" and "C" to copy the files.

Click in your memory card's window and press "CTRL" and "V" to paste the files onto the memory card. A dialog box will pop up with a green progress bar showing the progress of the file's transfer.

Close the memory card window by pressing the "X" in the upper right corner after the files have finished transferring.

Remove the memory card by pushing it in until it clicks and pops back out.

Tips & Warnings
You can also download console game saves from a site such as GameFAQs (see Resources). Use an SD card to transfer them to a Nintendo Wii or a USB flash drive to transfer them to an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.
You will need a USB SD memory card reader if you have an older computer with no SD memory card slot.
Use your computer's "Search" feature (accessed from the "Start" menu) if you are unable to locate your game's folder in "Program Files."
