Instructions

  1. Map Envelope Directions

    • 1

Go online to Map Envelope (see link in Resources). This is an easy to use site that allows you to print a map directly on the inside of an envelope.

    • 2

Input the address of the party in the destination line. Then enter a message in the following box. You can write whatever you'd like, such as a greeting or a note about getting to the destination (for example, if there's a security gate, a code that needs to be entered, or parking instructions), or leave it blank.

    • 3

Click the "Preview" button. A separate screen will pop up with a preview of your envelope map. Look it over and make sure it's correct, then press the "Print" button.

    • 4

Place a lightweight cardstock or heavy paper (not actual envelopes) in your printer. When you've printed all your copies allow the ink to dry for a couple minutes. Then cut out the shape of the envelope template printed on each sheet.

    • 5

Crease all the envelope edges as shown on the template. Fold the sides inward and line the bottom edges with a glue stick. Fold the bottom half up and press down into the glue to secure. Hold for one minute as the adhesive sticks to the bottom flap.

    • 6

Insert your invitation in the envelope, then fold the top flap down and seal with a decorative sticker.

    Map Fling Directions

    • 7

Go to the site listed in the Resources section below. Type the destination address into the box on the left side of the screen and press "Go."

    • 8

A map will pop up showing the destination. Type in a title for the marker on the map such as "Lori's House" or "Chapel of Jesus Christ." Your title will appear on the map.

    • 9

Send an email to friends and family with a link to your map, or copy and paste the map's URL into an invitation.
