Directions for a Diaper Wreath
Diaper wreaths are popular baby shower gifts. The wreaths look beautiful displayed on the wall of the nursery, the front door of the person's home, or the door of the hospital room. They are simple to make and can be decorated with a plethora of baby paraphernalia, such as rattles, teething rings and pacifiers. You can also decorate the wreaths with baby products, such as shampoo, powder, baby bath, a thermometer and booties. Pastel ribbons add a colorful touch and help to coordinate with the nursery theme or declaring the gender of the baby.
Things You'll Need
- Styrofoam wreath ring (approximately 10 inches or larger)
- Disposable diapers (you will need about 14 if you use size one)
- Three different colors of ribbon
- Baby items (to attach to the wreath)
- Hot glue gun (optional)
Instructions

1
Purchase a Styrofoam wreath ring from a craft or hobby store. It needs to be at least 10 inches in diameter, but can be larger depending on how big you want the wreath.
-
2
Cut your ribbons into 12 inch lengths for the bows to attach the diapers. If you want to hang baby items from the wreath, you should cut other ribbons into 18 inch lengths, or you can just hot glue the items onto the wreath.

3
Open each diaper, placing it around the wreath so that the fold is snug to the wreath and the ends are facing outside the wreath, as suggested by the Bukisa website. One side of the diaper will be on the back side of the wreath and the other over the front side.
-
4
Pinch the diaper together as near to the ring as possible and wrap one of the 12 inch ribbons around it and tie it into a knot.
-
5
Continue placing all the diapers around the wreath, and secure each one with a ribbon until the entire wreath is covered.
-
6
Glue the baby items on to different parts of the wreath with a hot glue gun, or hang them from the wreath with the 18 inch ribbons.
-
7
Curl the ribbons on each of the diapers with scissors.

Tips & Warnings
These type of wreaths would be great to bring in extra income by selling them at craft fairs, flea markets or just by word of mouth.
You can also use cloth diapers to make the wreaths.
