How to Add a Beneficiary to Car Title at California DMV

How to Add a Beneficiary to Car Title at California DMV thumbnail
Visit your local DMV office in California to add a beneficiary to your car's title.

Your son or daughter has always told you how much he or she admires the old vehicle you have parked in the garage. Title to that car is in your name alone, but you have recently decided that you want to add your child's name to the title. This way, should anything happen to you, your child would be able to keep the car. The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) requires that you fill out a new certificate of title and pay a transfer fee.
