How to Set the Best Quality Video on a Canon Powershot S5?

In addition to taking still photographs, the Canon PowerShot S5 IS digital camera can record video. As with all of the PowerShot S5 functions, the video capability has several settings to enhance the quality of your videos. Among the video options are resolution and frames-per-second configurations. The highest-quality video is taken with a high resolution and high frames-per-second count.

Instructions

1. Press the "Func." button in any shooting mode to access the settings menu for the Powershot S5.

2. Press the down arrow button four times to highlight the movie recording pixels setting. The current movie pixel setting appears on the screen.

3. Change the setting to "640 x 480 30 fps" by pressing the right or left arrow button.

4. Save the setting by pressing the "Func." button.

Tips & Warnings

• This setting provides a 640 x 480 resolution and 30 frames per second, the highest possible settings for the camera.

• Higher-quality videos take up more memory than lower-quality videos.
