How to Connect My Nokia Phone Auto Mute to My Car Stereo

Connect your Nokia phone to a car stereo.

Many Nokia wireless phones have a headpones jack for connecting headsets so you can listen to music or conversations. However, you can also use the same headphone port to connect to your car stereo. Once connected you can hear your entire conversation over the car's stereo system. While in a conversation you can press the "Auto Mute" button to instantly silence the the phone call.

Things You'll Need

• 3.5mm cable
• Car stereo with "Aux" port.

Instructions

1. Plug the 3.5mm cable into the headphones port on your Nokia wireless phone.

2. Connect the other end of the cable into the "Aux" port on your car stereo. Press the "Aux" button on the car stereo and every noise the phone makes is projected through the car speakers.

3. Make your phone call. If you want to drive hands-free, press the "Speaker Phone" button. This allows you to talk while the phone is down.

4. Push "Auto Mute" and the phone call is muted so the individual on the other line cannot hear what you are saying. Press the "Auto Mute" button again to cancel out the mute function.
