How to Make a Bitmap

A bitmap is an image or graphic represented by bits or pixels within a grid. Each pixel is the smallest visual representation displayed on the screen. You can make a bitmap by using computer software that creates a bitmap, or BMP (Bit Map Picture) file. Internet Explorer features a "Save Picture As" option that allow you to save any picture in your browser window in the BMP format. This is the simplest method for making a bitmap file since it does not require any additional software.

Instructions

1. Launch Internet Explorer.

2. Right-click on a picture to display the list of options.

3. Select "Save Picture As." The "Save Picture" dialog box will be displayed.

4. Click the "Save as type" drop-down menu and select "Bitmap (*.bmp)."

5. Click the "Save" button and your bitmap picture file will be saved on your computer.
