How to Make Wader Hangers
Hanging waders allows them to drain and air out. This can prolong the life of your waders by preventing the rubber from rotting or the interior from mildewing. It can also prevent your waders from smelling like the bottom of your boat's bait well. You can purchase several different types of wader hangers from outdoor suppliers, but it's easy to make your own hangers. Suspend the hanger from a nail in a garage, basement or outbuilding.

1
Shape the body of the clothes hanger into a rough circle. Do this by pulling down on the hanger with your hands to change its shape. The circle doesn't have to be perfectly round, just roughly the shape of a circle.
-
2
Grasp the hook part of the hanger with one hand and the body of the hanger, opposite the hook, in the other hand. Slip the wire forming the body of the hanger over the hook. You should end up with a rough bow-tie shape, with an oval of wire on either side of the hook for the hanger.

3
Place one boot of your waders upside-down in each oval of wire, with the toes of the boot sticking out over the wire. You can adjust the shape of the oval with your hands to best accommodate your wader boots.

Tips & Warnings
Choose the sturdiest clothes hanger you can find. Thin wire won't support the weight of the waders.
If you find the hook of the hanger slips off the nail, bend the hook into a loop to hold the wader hanger more securely.
