How to Replace the Radio in My Marada Boat thumbnail
A boat can have a radio installed in the driver console

Boats that are used for pleasure typically have a stereo or radio installed that is connected to speakers that are mounted throughout the boat. If the stereo on your Marada boat is old you can remove it and then replace it with a new stereo unit, an MP3 player or CD player. You will first need to determine how the existing stereo has been mounted to the console of the boat.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the trim or cover panel that surrounds the radio.

    • 2

Remove the screws, if any, that are securing the trim or cover panel with a screwdriver. Pull it off and then set it aside.

    • 3

Remove any screws that are used to secure the radio to the mounting bracket.

    • 4

Pull the radio out so you can see the wires that are connected to the back of the unit. The wires are connected to the radio by a connector or wiring harness.

    • 5

Remove the wiring harness from the back of the radio and then set the radio aside.

    • 6

Connect the wiring harness into the adapter plug that was included with the new stereo.

    • 7

Plug the adapter into the back of the stereo and then place the stereo into the mounting bracket in the console.

    • 8

Tighten the screws to secure the stereo to the mounting bracket.

    • 9

Set the trim or cover panel back in place and secure it with the screws.

    • 10

Turn on the stereo to see if it is working properly.
