How to Cancel a Sole Proprietorship in British Columbia, Canada
In order to cancel a sole proprietorship in British Columbia, you must dissolve your business registration. For sole proprietorships, this is done by completing the Dissolution or Change of Partnership or Proprietorship Registration form and submitting it to the BC Ministry of Finance's Registry Services. If your business was issued a Provincial Sales Tax (PST) number, you must close your PST account with the Ministry of Provincial Revenue, Consumer Taxation Branch. If you have a Business Number (BN), you must notify Revenue Canada of your business' dissolution.
