How to Bypass a Proxy Server in a LAN
Proxy servers allow you to mask your computer's IP address; however, this comes at the expense of bandwidth, resulting in a slower Internet connection. If using a proxy server is not necessary, bypass your proxy to increase your Internet access speed and to ensure that any search results or advertisements are relevant to your actual location. The process for bypassing your proxy is relatively simple in either Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Using Firefox

Open the Firebox Internet browser.

Click on the "Tools" tab and select "Options." Click on the "Advanced" tab and then on the "Network" tab.

Select the "Settings" tab. Select "No proxy" in the "Connection Settings" dialog box that opens. Click "OK."
Using Internet Explorer

Open the Internet Explorer browser.

Click on the "Tools" tab and then on "Internet Options."

Select the "Connections" tab in the "Internet Options" dialog box and then click on "Setup," which will bring up the "Local Area Network (LAN) Settings" dialog box.

Remove the checkmark from "Use a proxy server for your "LAN" in the "Proxy Server" category. Click "OK," and then click "OK" again.

Utilizing a proxy can help keep your Google search data private, assuming you are not signed in to your account, if you are concerned about privacy issues.
If using a proxy, ensure that it is a trusted proxy.
