How to Replace an Exterior Mobile Home Door
Your exterior mobile home door is usually made of a sandwich of vinyl, metal and Styrofoam. Mobile home doors are installed like conventional site-built home doors. They are attached to hinges that are secured to a door frame. Replacing them requires removing the door from the hinge. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Open the door to gain access to the hinges that attach the door to the frame.
-
2
Remove the screws that secure the door to the bottom hinge bracket. These are the screws on the inside of the door, along the edge. Use a power driver with a Phillips-head bit, or a hand-held Phillips-head screwdriver, if you do not have a power drill.

3
Hold the outside edge of the door firmly with one hand (or have a helper hold the door) as you remove the screws to the middle hinge and top hinge. This prevents the door from falling forward or backward when the screws are removed.
-
4
Place the door on the ground or up against a wall once all the screws are removed and measure the width and length with a tape measure. Then measure the thickness of the door (the width of the door's edge) and write down the measurements.
-
5
Place the new door inside the door frame and have a helper hold the door in place as you reattach the hinges to the edge of the door. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver or power driver for this step. Make sure the door is the right size.

Tips & Warnings
Use a similar door to replace your existing door. Installing a heavier door may stress your door frame, as it is designed to hold a light Styrofoam core door.
