    • 1

Create a C.V. Fitter and/or turner positions generally require training; provide details of any training or apprenticeships you have undertaken. If you have experience in the mining industry, or specific skills as a fitter or turner, make sure to include these as well. Include any references who can vouch for your past experience and professionalism.

    • 2

Research mining companies in Australia that you may be interested in working for. Many companies list their job vacancies on their website.

    • 3

Contact each company directly and ask to speak to the human resources manager. Ask if there are currently any opportunities for fitters or turners and offer to send through your C.V. for consideration.

    • 4

Follow up with the human resources manager two weeks after sending your C.V. With any luck, you will be offered an interview. If you are not currently in Australia, offer to conduct a phone or video-conferencing interview.

    • 5

Prepare for the interview thoroughly. Research the company so you are familiar with their structure, strategies, and current projects. Make sure to dress appropriately, arrive on time, and conduct yourself in a professional manner. Remember to thank the interviewer for the opportunity.
