How to Remodel a Bathroom With Crystal Blocks
Crystal (glass) blocks are the most common type of remodeling done in a bathroom, particularly to replace a large window, especially those over tubs or in showers. Crystal blocks afford privacy, while still allowing sunlight to pass through. Because they don't require curtains, there's less of an issue with moisture and mold. Since there's moisture present, however, poorly installed windows may allow moisture to seep into the walls. This task is best done by professionals. So hire the appropriate contractor for the job or for each part of the job. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Remove the existing window, removing all parts until you reach exposed wall. Your mason contractor will do this for you.

2
Hire a mason to install the glass/crystal blocks. Because crystal blocks cannot be cut, they will have to be made to fit evenly with the use of mortar. If your contractor recommends it, additional wall may need to be removed to make the window a more appropriate size. A good mason can lay the glass blocks so that they are flush with the outside wall.

3
Hire a tile contractor to lay tile around the inside of the window sill and frame. Use tile that either matches or complements your existing bathroom tile. This will finish the inside, making it water-tight and providing a ledge for decorator touches or for soaps and shampoos.
